Thank you for the response. Quick follow-up question: Do all the associates cover all the sectors? How do they find their LBO candidates if its not by assigning sectors?
They find their LBO candidates through busted auctions and looking at public equity prices (implied multiple). I don't work there but am told associates are all generalists. When you're at that level, no one is hiring you for your industry expertise anyway.
While they don't have a specific group, there are partners who have a ton of experience in certain industries (namely telecom and media) that you could probably get good reps with. Telecom is a brutal industry to invest in, and no juniors at my firm wan to be staffed on those deals.
