exits to London

Just started as an 1st year analyst in private credit at a large Canadian pension (think CPPIB, OTPP, Omers). Wondering what’s possible in terms of exits to London? lived there before and want to go back but wasn’t during uni so I’ve got no connections in finance. Or is it better to just aim for funds in New York instead since more Canadians end up there (also would appreciate any advice on that since on cycle was a mess this year).

do not come

How come? Genuinely curious on your thoughts since I don’t know people that work in finance there atm. I just really liked the city and what you can do there more than Toronto, but heard pay isn’t the best.

Canada is really hard to get placed, Toronto is overrun with candidates from all over the world. PR is easy to get, everyone is already there.

London has more jobs, but also a hard time unless you have some kind of a network.

Also, many people are against London currently due to an increase in crime, low wages (depending on area), high cost of living, and other problems. The UK has changed a lot in the last decade.
