Failed search funders
I am thinking of leaving PE to start a search fund after my asc years. What could I conceivably do if it failed? Are there any examples of this?

It depends how long your search is and the state of the market when you are looking. Anything longer than a year, I’d imagine it’ll be difficult to land at a respectable firm, but even now, it could be challenging.
I’ve seen friends and friends of friends go into corp dev at MM and LMM businesses, as well as some go to startups.
