Huge. Do it. Try to get some modelling experience/sit in on management calls etc. Just go in eager and try to do your best and it will be GREAT freshman experience. I'm currently going through junior recruiting from a non-target and it's my best experience. Doing decently, but if I had it my freshman summer... It'd be insane. Do it.
No, not really. Though, some will focus on a bit bigger companies (I've seen ones that target revenues of $5-50, some target as low as like 2-10 million or so) so that could be "better" but it's all the same really. The best value for you would be ones with the best management, so if it's an HBS/Stanford guy (generally always are) running it, that will be the one you want as they will have the best backgrounds in general, which means you'll get more knowledge transfer + connections through that.
