GI Partners in 2024?

I'm currently contemplating a lateral move at the associate level and am curious about the firm's performance, associate experience, and other pertinent factors. Of particular concern is the fundraising trajectory, especially considering the lack of news since their last raise back in 2020. Any updates or insights you can provide on these fronts would be greatly appreciated.

They raised a decent sized fund in 2021...given overall fundraising headwinds over the last 1 year, don't think the trajectory is all that concerning. Have 1-2 dogs in the portfolio that caused some senior turnover a few years ago, but it's not like they haven't been doing deals. Among "good" PE funds, they tend to fly under the radar so it's not surprising you don't hear much about them. Still well-respected in the industry, pay is somewhere market (300ish for ASO), WLB seems average. Not a known sweatshop but it's not like people just cruise.

The founder is known to be stingy (esp. with carry allocations for seniors), but this functionally shouldn't affect anyone VP or below.
