Depends what you want. Good, well-respected name for those in the know, downside is they’re somewhat under the radar. As far as comp, probably fall short of most MFs but not by a ton (3-handle+).

If you’re thinking about exits, class size is small enough that you could do a search for former associates.

Hope this helps.

GI Partners is a solid fund. Mainly based out of SF so assuming you're cool with that, then it's a good option. If you're deadset on MF, then this isn't it but I never really understood the MF or bust mentality considering most people I know who ended up at MFs ended up hating their experience.

If you feel ready to interview, I'd say go for it. Best case, you get an offer that you can potentially leverage for a place of your liking. You always have the option to turn it down if you get it.

GI is really good. Anecdotally from friends who work there / interviewed there, the culture is very solid for PE, hours are reasonable, and they make shrewd investments and are very particular about maintaining a margin of safety.

If you're interested in B-School, every associate that left for B-School this past year went to HBS or GSB. Believe 3 and 3 each.
