GPA for PE Oncycle from Semitarget

Hey everyone. At a semitarget, and I was wondering what gpa I should end with to have a chance at the top MFs for on cycle. For context, at a semitarget with a fulltime gig for an EB

It depends on your specific group, not just the firm. i.e. Evercore M&A vs Evercore C&R is a completely different situation.

You can look up some alums from your group on LinkedIn and see where they've gone. If it's mostly MMs, that'll likely be your landing spot as well. The MFs tend to pull from the same handful of groups year after year

agree with previous comment. anywhere above a 3.8 is 100% safe, and 3.7 is usually fine as well. if you were to be under that threshold, your experience would need to make up the difference.

I have found there to be a material cut off at 3.80. Note no rounding and they will ask for your official transcript to make sure ppl aren't doing BS like 3.78 -> 3.80. This is for semi-targets and non-targets only at these low to mid target banks. PJT RSSG you are fine with a 3.77 for example but not at like a Moelis. This for mega-funds only if you just want like a TJC don’t worry.

I don’t think this is true, all analysts I have talked to have mentioned u can round and that transcripts are not requested until offer is given during bg check

They do not ask for official transcripts before interviews though...  There is so much wrong with this comment that it's actually harmful because of how fearmongering it is.
