GS Private OC - Got AC for a different division

Hey guys,

I am fortunate to have received an AC for GS private credit (London). Yet, I made it very clear in my 300-word statement and my HV that I was interested in the PE Division

The thing is, when applying for the OC, they do not let you choose the division (PE/PC/Alt). So I was able to express my interest for PE only in the statement / HV

Any idea on how to approach this? Should I just email the HR? Tbh I like PC and I would take the offer if successful in the AC. But my first option is PE so not sure how to address this, I wouldn't want to be excluded from the PC AC process either and not hear back from PE

lol GS will put u in whatever division they want - I applied to IB SA last cycle ended up in PE

DO NOT email HR--Nothing good will come of that

It's GS they do not adapt their policies, especially not for SAs--once they make a decision, it's final

Usually for GS superdays, they won't even let you pick a time/day. Unlike other banks, they just send an email saying your superday will be at XYZ time on ABC day--they know that they're important enough for you to drop everything you're doing to show up--if you had a non-reschedulable final exam worth 50% of your grade, you'd still drop it for the chance to interview for at GS

And you have very limited say in the classics group that they place you in

Sortta reminds me of the Solomon Brothers recruiting anecdote in Liar's Poker--supposedly they didn't even extend offers to people--they would just wait for the candidates who hadn't been rejected to call to accept the offer. That way, nobody had the privilege of rejecting an offer from thembecause nobody was explicitly extended an offer in the first place.

fwiw I've also heard that the PC group is stronger than the PE group
