Hair plugs in private equity?

This is either a super vulnerable or super jokey question but figured I'd ask it. As we all know, balding is hugely prevalent in PE, both because of its gender mix and because of stress. But of course, most sufferers in the industry are flush with cash. BUT getting a full FUT / FUE procedure seems to be kind of a nonstarter lifestyle-wise within PE: you look like shit for a few months after the procedure in a way that's kind of shameful to show around the office / super weird to show to third parties. Any "recovery" period for the few weeks after the procedure likely cannot coexist with even a preliminary deal experience. But I see partners with plugs all the time. So quick question--how and when do PE professionals find a time to get plugs?

lol dude. Nobody will be able to tell you has a FUE operation after 10 days, possibly even sooner. At max 14 days. Speaking as someone who did two.

You’ll 100% be fine. Get it done on a Friday and then take the following week off. WFH the Monday you come back if need be, but you’ll likely be fine by then.

I was in a wedding 8 days after an operation and nobody could tell a thing. On a plane after 72 hours with a hat and nobody could notice.

The 48 hours immediately after will be intense though and you’ll have to be locked inside

Best decision I ever made. Insane that not everybody else does it . I traveled to a low cost of living city to do it. Spent about $4 a graft with a spectacular doctor. 1500 grafts each team. So 6k ish on each one. Find a good doctor away from NY, Cali, and Miami. Take oral monoxide and monoxide finasteride topical combo. Topical finastride not as efficient as oral, but you’ll minimize side effects and still be able to get hard

What do you mean? It’s not like a procedure is a cure. It still requires active preventative measures. Your genes don’t change, your still going to experience DHT influenced male pattern baldness. If you take oral propecia, for 90% of male population, you’ll probably need one every 5-7years. It you take topical propecia and oral monoxide figure every 3-4 years I would guess? You have about 12,000 grafts you can use in total.

I went pretty early in life and don’t regret it all. I’d have nothing left without oral propecia for 10 years and two procedures. I won’t take oral propecia again though. Not worth the side effects for me, but everyone’s sides are different.

I’m about 4,000 grafts in over a 8 year period. I’ll go for another 4,000 in about 2 years and call it a day. From there when I’m actually bald in like 15 years I won’t give a fuck

Agree, I just did 3000 grafts a month ago and I’d say nobody would be able to tell around day 20. I’m in SF and went to a place in San Mateo. If you google FUE it will come up.

I'm a PE Associate who got a HT back when I was working in IB. Honestly, nobody gave a fuck. I told my boss I was hoping to take a week to WFH so I could get an elective operation. He looked at me bemused but not wanting to ask so I volunteered "Yeah, this one may be pretty far outta left field, but I'm getting a hair transplant". He was totally understanding and hilariously asked a ton of questions, clearly having thought about it for himself before. Finally he said good luck and I retorted "Well, Mike. If I come back in here Monday the 17th with a third arm growing outta my head, you'll know how the procedure went." and he laughed his ass off.

No one commented on it when I showed up to the office with a buzzed head 9 days after procedure. Which makes sense, because out of all the shit we deal with on the job here, judging someone else's hair transplant is ~below the line~. By the time I got back to office it also just looked like I buzzed my hair, I don't think anyone noticed inflammation or anything. But I only did 1,200 grafts on select parts of my hairline and crown. If you do like 4,000 in one sitting then it will be noticeable but people still aren't going to give a shit.
