Thoughts on the firm? Associate Comp (base / bonus), culture, exit opps, etc? Reputation? Good place to learn?

Super sweaty at associate level. Reputation for sharp elbows in negotiations, retrade pre-close often enough to have a pretty bad reputation of it. But strong returns over time and have grown aum nicely for a non-NY based shop
Any thoughts on exit opps / how experience there would be perceived ?
Not sure exactly how exits are, but it's a large, well known shop. Cant imagine they're bad.
Curious what sweaty means. Can I go out on a Saturday nights with friends and can I get a work out in 5 times a week?
Maybe get one of those nights free, probably not both. Highly unlikely to work out 5 days a week without significantly sacrificing sleep. Even then your body will be pretty exhausted so you won't be training on 100%
Depends on office.
Ny. Thoughts?
Have heard culture in NY is better than Miami or SF
The reason it is sweaty is because they do a lot of deals relative to fund size. IE if your fund of X AUM was aiming to do 10 deals, then HIG is doing 15 deals with the same AUM.
Like the others said, well known for retrading last minute, etc.
How are M7 placement from here?
Username lmao
Lmfao
I’ve heard it can really vary depending on the fund, of which they have many. I kind of think of it as a MF model re-tailored for the MM, with the founders being BX trained.
How’s firm in terms of m7 placements and overall career trajectory
Their returns are good.
HIG Capital Partners (2014) - gross return of 3.4x
HIG Capital Partners (2007) - gross return of 4.7x
MM Fund (2009) - gross return of 4.6x
MM Fund (2015) - gross return of 3.3x
Their MM fund says cheques of $150 - 350m (on a $5bn fund) - that is ~20 deals (assuming ~$250m size) - which is a lot (hence the sweatiness, and add bolt-ons etc. to that...)
I don't know if they split by main fund and MM fund (or if you could be staffed on both)
How is their growth arm? Return and culture?
Bump
