How tight is the pre-MBA PE experience requirement?
I am throwing around the idea of an MBA in the future. One thing I've noted is the requirement for pre-MBA PE experience to recruit for corporate PE post MBA.
How tight is this requirement with regards to other ancillary buyside experiences? I work in special sits but if people respond would appreciate inputs for other fields as I assume there are others with similar questions.
For example, special situations investing, private credit / direct lending, private infrastructure, PERE, growth equity, etc.

Special situations is ok just put “private equity associate - special situations group”
all about marketing. Then heavily spin role as close to Corp Pe. Now if you invested only in first Liens that’s a totally diff story but a true spec sit skill set eg longer holds, distressed, minority, pipes all highly applicable
