Currently in school at a non target 🥲.

Could use more detail but stream of consciousness advice:

  1. Get really high grades. And perhaps try to transfer to a better school.
  2. Join every club you can - knock out a level of the CFA.
  3. Target search fund internships in-year or during summer if sophomore or prior.
  4. Network relentlessly with alum and anyone else you have a connection with.
  5. Find regional LMM firms that are less demanding from a prestige standpoint.
  6. Get any finance experience you can - including corpfin/fp&a/big4. Repeat steps 3 and 4 above.
  7. Start lining up your trajectory for a good MBA or a good mfin. Break in after.
