How to stay engaged in community/leadershio

Going into a top PE anayst program FT this fall and thinking way ahead to bschool/post-MBA life. How do juniors (both in IB & PE), if at all, stay engaged in community programs and leadership positions? What types of programs/time commitments/activities do you do? HBS has "habit of leadership" and "community engagement" as criteria for applications and I assume this isn't easy to do at work if you're a junior in IB/PE and they surely can not be looking at just undergraduate experiences. Cheers.
