Just finished first year in MM IB. Received a lateral offer for a top BB/EB group (as a second year) to start mid-September, which would be too late to participate in 2021 on-cycle. Since on-cycle is starting so soon, are there still benefits to lateraling from a PE recruiting perspective (for off-cycle 2021 roles), or does the switch seem pointless if I miss on-cycle? Goal is UMM or MF PE. Thanks.
