IB SA -> FT PE
How difficult is it to recruit directly from an IB sa stint to a full-time PE gig? Understand you come in as an analyst rather than an associate, but what are the odds of making it happen at each fund size (MF, UMM, MM, LMM), and are there any cons to skipping the analyst banking stint if you're dead set on PE?
I've seen one guy go from top EB third year summer to FT at a top PE fund. Definitely possible but very rare, at least from the people I've seen.
