Identifying PE backed companies

Hi All,

I am a Smartsheet PMO solution consultant and I help companies empower their PMOs with transparency and actionable intelligence.  Over the last several years, I have noticed that all of my top clients, who I've had the most successful projects with, where PE backed companies.

The common characteristics I saw across these clients were:
1) Growth mindset - from leadership though the ranks, people are open to change and motivated to grow
2) Urgency - growth is a priority to be started now, not kicked off into the future
3) Commitment  - follow through on points 1 & 2 by investing time and money to drive real change

I'd like to work with more companies like these and am working to identify potential new clients. Being completely new to the PE world, I'm only finding various press releases about acquisitions and investments.

Are these any lists or databases I can use to efficiently find PE backed companies and the firms that own them?
