Career Resources
Relatively transferable, arguably a lot easier to move across continents in IR than if you did banking or outright investment role. It’s not even just the value of LP connections (it’s relatively easy to spin that you might bring an Asian or US LP that’s not well covered on the other side of the world) but also that it’s a far more niche role that is harder to fill with good and experienced candidates.
Having said that, as a Singaporean I thought you’re basically guaranteed the H1B(1?) visa due to treaty status anyway?
H1B1s are guaranteed (tens of thousands of slots for the maybe hundreds, at most few thousand Chileans and Singaporeans who apply every year). But you can't get a green card. So not really the best option for someone who wants to be here long term.

You won’t accumulate meaningfully relationships at this level for this to be a concern. The processing of deliverables is the same in U.S. and Asia.
Worth talking to some Asia-based recruiters as well to inform your perspective. Think the folks at principle partners, options group, barker partners, wellesley could share some thoughts if you can get a chat with them
You'll be fine. As long as you have Singaporean roots, you'll definitely get plenty of looks when you do decide to make the move back to SG. Given the recent boom in immigration to Singapore (China lockdown, HK shitshow, etc.), there will be plenty of IR opportunities in SG and the region generally.
