Industry Learnings in Private Equity

I work at a generalist MM PE shop, and despite looking at a ton of different industries our team doesn't have an elegant / codified system for consolidating and tracking notes / resources / data on certain industries, which makes macro thesis-building a bit manual after coming back to a certain sector I haven't touched in a while. Curious to hear how other shops typically organize key industry / sector learnings, or if this is a problem that others run into as well?
