Informational phone call with a PE partner

Hi all!

So as I didn't get a summer internship this year, I opted to cold contact boutique investment banks, PE and VC firms in hopes of obtaining some corporate finance experience.

Sent emails out, stating my background and asking whether I could get professional experience.

To my amazement, got a reply from the partner of a boutique PE firm - I done some research on the partner and some of his achievements are amazing, the partner said his secretary will organise a time and date and will contact me for a call this week, but here's where I'm stuck.

**What's my game plan? ** What should I say during the call? What shouldn't I say during the call? Should I ask for the internship of the bat? Should I go: Phone Call --> Coffee Meeting --> Ask for experience

What should I do? Opinions welcome.

Be honest. Don't be shy but be respectful, probably this guy has an astonishing career. Talk about yourself, this person just wants to know you better. Tell him about your anspirations. If he will like you as a person you will probably land a offer as you are probably too young for something really technical for a PE firm. Suit up if you are interviewing on Skype.

Thanks man, my ultimate goal was to get some professional exposure/an internship/work experience. Think I should organise a coffee meeting or ask on the call?
