Junior Comp Increase with Recent Fundraise?
At a LMM fund in the greater metropolitan area of a Tier 1 city. Firm is in process of raising a new fund and supposedly things are going well. Would expect a 20-30% increase from the prior fund. Is it reasonable to expect a comp increase at the junior level as AUM increases? Has anyone seen / heard any stories of this happening? For the record, I would be reasonably surprised if there were any impacts at junior level, but curious what's market in a situation like this.
No, I wouldn’t expect an increase just because of a fund upsize.
Comp at junior level tied way more to what your partners think is “market” than what size fund you have. Would not expect anything to change unfortunately
