K1 Investment Management Salaries

Can someone explain why K1 Investment Management has extremely low salaries for a private equity firm? For an operations consultant role, they offered an initial 60K for an experience hire. I am just confused at how they can compete in the market. If you have any explanation, please help.

Per a new analyst there - it’s “justified” because, in general, they hire from a lot of atypical, often completely inexperienced backgrounds for the investment team. Supply-demand
