Finishing first year at a MM IB and considering lateraling to strong BB/EB group before on cycle PE; considering on cycle is in October, would a lateral after 1 yr still receive MF/UMM looks during on cycle / is it worth making the switch, or too close to the interviews now?

Can't comment on how the move would be perceived by MF/UMM, but it feels late in the game to me. The general feeling is on-cycle will happen mid-September this year, so if I were you and I wanted to go through PE recruiting this fall I would be focusing all my energy on networking and prepping for PE interviews.
Though if you lose a year during the lateral process, then wouldn't you still be getting looks?
