LMM PE – Most of the Work in Ops Team vs. Risk Consulting for PE Portfolios

Would really appreciate some thoughts on a dilemma I'm currently facing.

I’ve secured two internship opportunities for the upcoming cycle:

LMM Private Equity Fund – The fund is solid and has decent deal flow, but most of the work I’d be doing is within their portfolio operations team.

Risk Consulting for PE Portfolios – This is with a well-regarded firm, focused on helping PE clients (including some mega funds) with financial risk, hedging strategies, and sometimes even advising during acquisitions. It’s more quantitative and client-facing.

My long-term goal is to break into traditional PE or a strategy role within a PE-backed company. I’m trying to evaluate which role would add more value to my profile in the long run, especially in terms of learning, deal exposure, and future exit options.

Would love to hear any advice or firsthand experience.

Thanks in advance!
