London Headhunters and Client Coverage (2024)
I'm starting the process connecting with London headhunters for PE and growth roles. What is the client coverage at the top headhunting firms as of 2024? Blackwood, Nordbridge, PER, Kea, Dartmouth, etc.

Kea cover APO, KKR, SLP and GA
KEA has been terrible for me -- really engaging at start and then just ghost you after without putting you in any processes
I'm at a BB in a top group so it's not "prestige" either...expected this from DP not them..
Interesting, in my limited experience with Kea I've found them to be very responsive, communicative and helpful. Think ultimately it comes down to who in the firm you're speaking with - I've had great experiences with DP both in their early careers team and their lateral team, but also some horrible ones with their early careers team.

Yeah thanks I saw that but it looks like these are from 2020 - I suspect there's been some changes.
I would assume not, maybe some marginal changes. These client coverages stay relatively sticky over time.

Pearse Partners: Brookfield SS, Hayfin SS
Hilton Rose: general SS shops (both PE, PC and HFs) across performing, stressed and distressed
Options Group: general SS shops (both PE, PC and HFs) across performing, stressed and distressed (some examples are Fitzwalter and SVP)

Are you aware of any processes starting in London for laterals as a senior associate / VP?
Unfortunately, no. That's what I'm recruiting for. I spoke with Sr. Associate at a top fund (think H&F) and it sounds like he's getting squeezed out due to downsizing and he's having trouble lateralling.
Thank you for sharing. That is also my impression: funds are more downsizing these days than recruiting.
What happened with your recruiting and the H&F person in the end?

If anyone has any recent insight into Blackwood's current client list this that would be helpful. I know they've historically done Blackstone and CD&R, but I'm sure they have more clients they work with.
They also have Permira and WP. Though Permira was womens only the last time around IIRC

Anyone know who do growth/crossover investors in London (TCV, Sequoia, QIA, ME SWFs, DST Global etc)?
TCV someone told me a few days ago is not hiring. Have not had experience with any of the above other than Options very oddly telling me they had Triton mandate only for Triton to tell me KEA did. Maven other than L Catt no idea what they cover. Never heard of Paragon, Forge.
any other good rogue recruiters ? read posts here on melrose, someone mentioned to me finatal, very randomly today got a call from TW on hongshan (sequoia china spinoff)... are there any others worth speaking to? asset partners? greenwich partners seems like a scam? PER also has not told me about a single mandate?
TCV had an open position for their LDN office at the back end of last year. They emailed me to schedule an interview but ended up ghosting.
There aren't many consistent recruiters in London these days. PER have been largely useless too but have been delivering mandates in recent weeks, albeit low-quality but it's an upgrade from years of ghosting and unreliability
