London PE Scene: The Essentials

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and are enjoying the sun light, feels great to have the spring back ain't it?

I was wondering if you could shed some light on the London PE scene as I find it a bit obscure, looks like a close circle and there's no way of getting any insight unless you're in the circle..

What are the best PE shops there and why? Has anyone been struggling with capital raising in the recent years? I've been hearing some rumors but I'm not in PE right now so can't know for sure .. How's the culture in (your) PE firm, so you regret the decision of going there or are you having a blast? How easily is the career progression there? Do you plan on staying in PE for long? why? How was recruiting? talking about main steps? Any HHs to privilege? Any headhunters to avoid, I heard pretty bad stories If there was anything you'd do differently/better when recruiting, what would it be?

Appreciate the input!
