Hmmm... I am surprised that it would be that low. VPs in banking make that much.
Well, isn't a large part of PE pay based on carry? They make some annual salary from management fees, but the real money is from the 80% of profits they get per fund once it cashes out. And no offense, but complaining about $600k makes you sound like a snob.
Carried interest is not 80% of profits.
The bigger the fund, the longer before you get to see any carry. Thats why megafunds pay big bonuses.
Carried interest is usually 20%. The investor gets 80% (above the 8% annual return rate).
