MF PE Liquid Credit
Lots of discussion around private credit / DL arms but curious to hear thoughts on liquid credit arms within MF PE or elsewhere? Believe for example Ares and KKR have groups that look at these more liquid securities (lev loans, high yield bonds) separately from their SSG and DL teams. Any thoughts on which liquid credit teams rank the best and how they comp relative to their PE counterparts?
Hours tend to be better (market hours usually). Pay is probably similar, or slightly less on the cash side, given how these companies are becoming asset-gathering institutions and multiples expanding just based on total AUM. Don't think there is any carry which can be a big differentiator in the out years.
Thanks for the color. Any views on which teams are the best in the space? Also, do these teams typically compete for talent with credit hedge funds or is the conversation more against the direct lending teams at MFs
