Mid-Level Career in PE - Transferrable Skillset?

To what extent is the skillset you build in PE as someone of middle seniority like a senior associate/vp/principal, transferrable to other industries

Can you still transition into business roles in tech, go back to banking, consulting etc. corporate if for some reason as someone of the above listed seniority, you decide nah fuck it I hate this job or fund implodes and you get risk averse etc.

Sure I know your pay will be much much lower but from the perspective that vs IBD as a VP your exit opps are perceived to be not great, i.e. not a deal monkey but without the client rolodex

Thanks for your thoughts
