MM PE to MBB

Basically the topic. Would I pull this off or no way that's gonna fly?

Hit the two-year mark at my top MM and immediately jumped ship to a decent MM shop. My role is both Investment & Ops so I know what it's all about. Target with 4.0 GPA.

Two years mark on the buy-side now. Total of 5 years post-undegrad exp (+ MS/JPM LT Internship in Continental Europe). Am I late to the game? Trying to avoid the MBA way.

Love the PE and shit but it's fucking boring most of the time and I want this blue-chip name for the future when shit gets bad and I get to choose between a down-lateral and industry. They're gonna be like who the fuck Robert Baird is but for sure the McKinsey would ring some bells.

Also I love the travelling aspect ngl.

Why are you against the MBA route? Seems like with your background you wouldn’t have much of a problem getting into a good school, and from there MBB should very doable.

Typically the river flows the other direction, with MBB consultants aspiring to MM PE! Right now the industry is struggling - most firms are over capacity, particularly in M&A groups - and therefore many firms are limiting their experienced hire pipeline. The MBA route is your surest option as no firm will abandon campus recruiting, although I'm sure you would get traction reaching out to folks in PE groups at MBB/T2 - can't hurt to send out some feelers but I wouldn't get your hopes up for a "big break."
