Net worth mid-late 30s
I'm curious what net worth levels you have reached if you are mid-to-late 30s and have worked in PE for most of your career.
I personally left PE at age 30 and have been working on the HF side for the past 7 years. Current NW around $16m.
ur definitely an outlier
Really? I would think that some PE bros should have more than that including carry value.
Not many will have that kind of NW at around our age unless it’s inherited.
do the math on taxes, vesting and stuff;
16m post-tax is like at least 24m pre-tax; and even then a decent portion of the carry is still unvested, so how would they even come close to 16m
My older brother is younger than you (early-30s) but has ~2mm liquid & ~8mm DAW
Humble brag
Or maybe just outright
or just an outright lie
Sexy humble brag, although it’s posted anon which is really odd.
You’re intelligent enough to work at a hedge fund and amass $16mm, yet clueless enough to think mid-30s PE professionals would likely have more than you?
C’mon now. You’re w baller man. That what you wanted to hear?
This dude picked the wrong mf day to flex on SMOKE FROG
Why is it crazy? Aren’t mid 30s PE profs principals/MDs with a few mm of carry from their VP days and maybe another $5-10mm in the new funds? (Speaking for large cap)
how many MF principals/MDS do you think exist with that much carry
vested 16mm by mid 30s is a bit ridiculous even for the best in PE
unvested 10mm-20mm seems way more realistic for even the most mid
