Niche manufacturing buyouts
I am looking at doing a series of majority buyouts of niche or specialty manufacturing companies in the lower middle market. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the sector? How much competition is there for deals here? Is it too capital-intensive?
This is like every LMM industrials firms strategy... "Niche manufacturing" itself isn't a sector, these companies manufacture products for an extremely wide range of sectors. Would be better for you to develop a thesis around markets you want to target.
This is crazy — it only makes sense to be thinking about doing this if you are someone who has a ton of experience in the space and a clear cut thesis you want to execute
A million ways to lose all your money doing this lmao
That's a very uninformed statement. There are numerous evergreen funds that are industry agnostic and are performing well. It sounds like someone has some very limited perspective. :)
