Opinion on this PE job?

Hi guys would appreciate your thoughts on this PE analyst job opportunity.

Job description:

The role has accounting, research and execution elements to it.

Executing new deals (reviewing deal documentation, setting up new entities, liaising with professional advisers, and optimising the deal structure)

Managing existing operating entities (producing cash flow models and forecasts, liaising with accountants, and checking tax and regulatory returns)

Managing existing funds (liaising with fund accountants, reviewing financial statements, maintaining key records and responding to queries from investors)

Assessing how changes in regulation will impact existing funds and future investments.

It is an analyst job. It looks interesting but I am a bit concerned as it does not seem like a traditional PE job but more of an operational / project management type role, where I would be helping one of the directors on portfolio management type responsibilities. There would be no origination of investments, that is done by a separate team.

Any thoughts welcome.

Yeah, your concern is valid...although saying this: "Executing new deals (reviewing deal documentation, setting up new entities, liaising with professional advisers, and optimising the deal structure)" makes it sound like you would be involved in new deals.

You don't want to just be doing portfolio monitoring and fundraising work when you join a PE firm because then you won't build any transaction experience (assuming you want that investment skills and experience on your resume)...

Thanks for the response. Yeah there would be wp8rk on new deals but a lot of this would be project managing e.g. checking documents produced by lawyers and accountants. I just think with a role like this the problem may be the absence of a skill set as you're just checking and managing work done by others. And not really originating deals or modelling.
