P-E information internship

Hello everyoneI'm a student and I'm hesitating between doing a gap year or continuing in one go for the last year, and finishing once.I'd like to work in private equity, but I'm wondering if this will be possible as I've just graduated from a top 10 school in France , and I only have one experience as a financial analyst in a bank in Africa. Why am I hesitating to do a gap year? Because I'm nearly 27 and I feel like I'm in danger of wasting a lot of time given what I've done before, because I did a master's in a school that I didn't like at all and unfortunately I've realized that for a change. What advice can you give me? Do you think that doing a gap year is more interesting? And if so, how can I orientate my curriculum (my internships) so that they match what I'd like to do?How can I best prepare for my internships and which private equity and banking groups should I target?I'm doing a master's in corporate finance management and my major is private equity.I feel lost and anxious because I'd like to be able to finish so I can help my family, but I also know that the time I put into the internships could earn me more later on, so if there's any advice to give and several points of view, I'd love to hear it.This is the first time I've posted so please let me know if there's anything I can take back or not.I'm really lost, thank you very much for your answers.
