PE acquire any Investment bank?

Does any one know some successful cases in which PE company or investment related company acquired investment banking(in USA ,HK,Singapore ,Sweden or Norway) during the previous years, I mean in the previous five years . Thank you

My PE firm is owned by the same guy that owns the I bank we work in the same building as. Same managing directors too. Im pretty sure at some point it gets illegal. Not sure when though.

Thx. Our company just thought about are there any possibility for a Asian PE to acquire some part of rights of a Investment bank in Wall street , or European . I mean from the point of Law . Mainly focus on small Investment bank that are capable of assist some foreign company IPO in NYSE, Nasdaq or European market.
