PE Analyst Bonus
Unlike in banks where it is common for analysts to exit, PE analysts are often kept for promotion to associate. The firms may ask the analyst if they would like to stay around. If they say no, I imagine they would lose the bonus. If they say yes, to receive a huge portion of their compensation, and then leave, will they burn their bridges / refs at the firm? Aren't you usually quoted a bonus for PE analyst programs for the all-in?
Yep, we are, but I believe it’s still categorized as discretionary (I doubt they’d pro-rate if you left early). I think same goes for PE associates who are leaving (but leaving at that level is more common so you don’t burn bridges / bonus isn’t contingent on your staying).
same here, categorized as discretionary, although you can expect a general minimum bonus % usually
do you have any thoughts on the above? or are you planning on staying on as associate
