PE and Skiing?

Does anyone know of any small PE shops or family offices in any of the ski towns in the Western US? Currently a first year analyst at a MM but have always wanted to live and work somewhere I can ski on weekends and will do just about anything to make that possible while also working in finance (ideally PE). Is this an option anywhere or is my best bet Denver or Salt Lake?

Denver and Salt Lake are probably the best bet. KSL in Denver does a lot of travel and leisure investments; Alterra, the parent company of the IKON pass is one of their portfolio companies. Revelstoke Capital is another solid Denver fund. For Salt Lake your best bet would be Tower Arch or Peterson. However, there may be some smaller shops in Park City.

I thought it would be interesting to mention that Vail Resorts, which owns the EPIC pass, was once a portfolio company of a private equity fund - Apollo, no less.

ahaha this is an awesome thread title. Can also ski quite a bit if your in a group with decent WFH over the holidays (ski thanksgiving, Christmas, presidents, etc) plus take 1-2 weeks over the winter. Can easily get 30+ days

I'm at a LO and get 20 PTO days/yr. I've averaged 20 days on my Ikon/Epic pass since I got here. I go over Christmas/NY, MLK, President's Day, etc. I'll go up to VT on the weekends and try and get out west twice a season. It's definitely doable but most of my PTO is focused around skiing and I think my PMs respect that I'm taking time off for a hobby which they mutually enjoy. Most seniors have been to the elite resorts so I've found that they enjoy chatting about conditions and my favorite runs at Deer Valley/Alta/Vail/Jackson Hole etc

There is a fund called Manna Tree based in Vail Colorado, but I think is more growth-oriented. The firm was founded by Gabrielle Rubenstein, the daughter of David Rubenstein.
