PE ASO Industry Switch
How hard is it to switch industry coverage as a PE associate? If you join a healthcare PE group as an associate out of banking, can you make a pivot to consumer / tech / industrials PE after 1-2 years?

Incredibly firm-dependent. I do know that MBA switches in industry happen all the time; obviously less likely if you're going for a sector-specific firm entirely.
Yeah makes sense, was more so thinking about it in the context of joining a the HC group at a PE firm, and then lateraling to another PE fund after 1-2 years to do a different industry. Reason being it’s getting close to summer 2025 and opportunities are getting hard to come by.
