PE Credit Arm Info

Just learned about junior FT opening in a small private equity firm's credit arm. This is definitely a place I could see myself at due to size, geography, and the people, but I have minimal exposure to the credit space. The guy I spoke to mentioned there would be a case study in the interview process as well. Like I said, I literally only know as much about this space as this guy told me on the phone. If anybody has any info/resources to go on to learn more about how these shops work and what investing in distressed debt looks like in general, that would be huge. Thanks in advance.
