PE Operating Associate

Hi everyone! I am a newbie here and got a couple questions. I got contacted by a PE firm headhunter about a junior operations associate position. I think the call went well (15 minutes) and with how the call ended, it sounded like I should expect a call from the PE firm's director of talent and if she likes me enough, then I get an official interview. Well, it's been a week and I still have not gotten a call and the headhunter has not responded to my reply to his email either. I am kinda worried.... How does this entire recruiting process really work? I've read a ton online but has not an iota of an idea.

Let me explain background here a bit. I graduated from local University with a BA in International Studies with a GPA of 3.5. I then worked at two CPA firms as bookkeeper/staff accountant for two years. And now, I am the senior financial analyst at a small chemical manufacturing company (rounded up, two years). Where I do all the stuff that typical FP&A and Corporate Finance folks do. I have a very strong background in BI and data modeling (both Excel & Power BI). It does not take me long to come with an advanced Excel model or whip up a professional dashboard. I've dealt with folks from the lowest level of AP to the highest level of CEO/CFO/COO

Truth be told, I was shocked that the headhunter even entertained the idea that I could be a good fit for a junior ops associate. I didn't go to a prestigious university and also did not work at world acclaimed companies likes EY, GM, or Dell. The more I read about the firm and the job description the HH sent, the more interested and excited I get. But really, what are my chances of getting an official interview and winning an offer. I am competing against peers who went to well known schools and/or worked at world renown companies.
