PE Salary Understanding
Hi everyone,
Curious to understand in the PE (specifically MM) scene, if your salary is generally tied to your previous stint.
For example, if someone in Big4 CF and someone in traditional IB both joined a PE fund at the same time, would they 9 times out of 10 have the same salary (give or take 5-10%)?
Trying to understand this because people in Big4/Corporate Development etc. can still recruit for PE positions, but their salary is generally lower than traditional IB and I assume that's the negotiation starting point.
Thanks
Comp would all be the same at least at the associate / senior associate level regardless of previous background
