PE Shops Going Public

KKR and BX went public. And now, Apollo and Carlyle are following their routes. What is the benefit of being a public company? I thought the benefit of Private Equity comes from lack of regulation. Aren't their investments / compensation going to be affected? Any thoughts?

Is it me, or is KKR a dirt cheap stock with a hefty dividend?

Up 3.10% today and another 3% in after hours. Too bad it wasn't real money.

This is why I think the mid markets/non BB firms can be very desirable. They is a lot to love about working for a privately help firm vs. a public one. That goes for any industry/company too.

We've got half a million shares in the bag!

Is that actually the use of proceeds, or is it being paid out to general partners?
There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.
