PE Teams for working in Impact Investing/Emerging Markets Investing

Hello,

I am in the position to pick between different PE verticals (including Financials, Healthcare, Tech) within the same firm and different positions in Infrastructure or Distressed/Special Situations Investing.

My long-term goal is to land in emerging markets investing or impact investing, preferably either in South/Southeast Asia or in South America (I am a native Spanish speaker). Assuming firms and pay equal and no preference between the three investment classes, what would give me the best chances for the switch?

I fear that the Distressed/Special Situations seat makes my path more difficult than the others, but also think that this might provide the most interesting opportunity in the current environment.
