PE VP transitioning out of finance industry?

Currently VP1 at an LP, doing PE co-investments and funds. It’s a sweet gig but I’m pretty burnt out from the industry (started in IBD). Have saved enough and want a career transition. Firm culture is “up or out” so if I don’t leave around now, I’ll be middle aged and jobless in a few years.
For a next career, I would like to be in a role that’s more relevant across industries (ie not as pigeon-holed as being in PE for a niche industry), doesn’t require going back to school (short online courses or certificates would be ok), and are decently well-paying but not necessarily to the degree of IBD/PE.

Some research indicates data analytics/AI, sales/BD, IR, recruiting… could be some options.

Does anybody have experience transitioning out or have any insights into good next career options? Thanks in advance.

How much do u have saved? Just curious for data points at VP level. Biz dev could be a good look if you are very social and enjoy building and fostering relationships

Hey - have enough to pay off a mortgage on my home. But I’ve been working since undergrad and rode the bull wave of bonuses in IBD where payouts were pretty good…

I’m not super social but could give it a go. Would companies consider me overqualified for BD? I’ve actually been applying to a few things to test the waters and it’s been radio silent.
