Similar to what the other poster said, they’ve historically been known as a very sweaty team for associates, as they tend to be “bottom feeders” looking for very cheap assets, which often requires you to “hang around the hoop” for processes in case they start to fall off track.

Supposedly, as they’ve gotten larger, they’ve moved a bit away from this strategy, but they’re definitely more “value buyers”. Anecdotally, when in banking I was on a sellside they were involved in and the team seemed very sharp, but the associate looked pretty tired at the management presentation. Clearly they are doing something right though, given the recent $10bn raise.

Hey man – Thanks for the insight. So if you recruit there as an associate, do you get recruited to either the M&A team or the Ops team? Or is it a normal PE Associate program w Deal Team work and some PortCo work but the day-to-day PortCo stuff goes to their ops team?

Bump - any updates on Platinum's LA office in 2022? Heard culture has gotten a bit better and comp has also improved. Is this true?

This is for a mid-level hire, so I'm curious if there is a significant improvement in culture / work life balance once you get more senior than Associate (to the extent Associates still have a tough work life balance as mentioned in prior posts).
