Post-March Optimal Timing for PE ASO Lateral Recruiting?

Currently looking for lateral opportunities from my current fund, an MM/UMM specialist PE fund in London. I am ASO2 for reference. Looking for other opportunities in this specialist sector of similar size, and have had good luck with two shops so far, but this seems to pale in comparison to the volumes I had been receiving from recruiters earlier in the year, when I was not recruiting.

I don’t want to waste goodwill with my current firm taking tons of time off to interview, so considering whether there is some timing element for not seeing as many opportunities coming up; are firms waiting to see if people leave post March bonus to see if they need to recruit? For my second PE role, where I may end up a VP, I am wanting to have reasonable conviction in where I am moving, so ideally I would have a good volume of choices to consider. Grateful for any perspectives.
