Healthcare PE could arguably have a lot of this lol

They ms’d you but you’re not necessarily wrong lol. I’m as much of a capitalism-loving, red-blooded American as most of us here, but I do think it’s wild that essential hc services businesses can be acquired by PE and optimized for returns instead of patient outcomes.
I have a couple people who follow around my comments and MS literally anything I say so it's not surprising. Likewise a capitalism-lover but I'll readily admit many aspects of HC in the US are utterly gross. It's one of the few sectors alongside energy where a purely profit-driven motive can impose truly life-threatening (in both a literal and financial sense) costs on the people it's supposed to help. The prescription benefits rebate and health insurance segments are just a couple examples that come to mind that are just disgusting to read about once you get into the details (granted both are the way they are because of government meddling). For pure healthcare just look at what they did with insulin.

Think APO invested in Blackwater (international mercenary provider). HIG also invested in private prison providers

Platinum caught quite a bit of flack for the prison phone deal.
