Private Equity M&A internship at a small firm as my first internship

I'm a 3rd year undergraduate student at a solid but non-target private university in Southern California. I started as an engineering major but transitioned to majoring in Finance with a minor in Math. I'm going to take an extra semester to graduate most likely (due to changing majors + picking up a minor), so I'll have an extra summer to intern. So far, I don't have any professional experience in finance. Post graduation, I know getting into IB or any BB will be very difficult- I'm more interested in FP&A and maybe transitioning to a BB once I get a T20 MBA or masters.

I've applied and been contacted back by "Gateway Partners Inc", located in San Diego for a "M&A Research Intern" position. It's paid (not great, but I was looking only at unpaid internships prior to this), and it's in the right industry. The issue is I can't really find any information about this firm (I've reached out via LinkedIn to former interns and waiting to hear back), but I was wondering what your thoughts are on this opportunity?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Post graduation I'd like to go back to the Silicon Valley (I'm from there). Thanks in advance!
