Pushed out and forced to rehab

I took a lot of adderall to perform at my old job and things were going quite well. Got promoted and was working at a great GP making bread. Then bam, my doctor forced me to stop adderall cause he thought I was too stressed and I was quickly pushed out of my job. IMO, I just had a stressful job and I overshared with my psych.

After that, I got a new job at a small dead end GP and I became very depressed. Now my family is forcing me to rehab and my life is ruined. I haven’t lost my job and I’ll go back but it’s definitely a huge demotion and idk how to rebound to my old self without adderall.

Should I run away and start my own business or something? Should I go to business school? Should I become a waiter or other lower paying job that makes me happier? Should I move to a third world country?

I was a raging alcoholic and got pushed out of my last fund. Found a way to lateral. Had to leave my hometown and restart at my seniority level path wise, but overall it was good for me. I sobered up, found God, and met a wonderful girl. Really cleaned me up. Now I'm in a much better spot.

Don't let substance abuse defeat you. Get sober, find a new place, and get healthy. 5 years from now you'll look back at what was and be proud of how far you've come.
