Quick Q on how PE Recruiting Works
When you get PE interview invites, do you interview with specific teams at the firms? Or do you interview with a firm's private equity group and get placed later in a group?
I understand there are generalist firms but wondering how it compares to say banking recruiting where most of the time you get placed in a group later. Also curious if it is different from PE firm to PE firm.
Thanks!
From what I’ve gathered (incoming analyst planning on on-cycle) it varies a bit firm by firm. But I know many firms that operate with more separated verticals will have you interview with the specific group. But someone else will have better insight, I’m not a good source
From convos:
a) headhunter will give you an interview with a specific group
b) some firms will interview generalist and place you after
c) some are just generalist
Any ideas of which ones are generalist and then place you later?
