Recruiting for On Cycle/ Off Cycle while being PE analyst
Hi everyone, this is the situation I'm in.
I'm an incoming PE analyst at a UMM (think L Catterton/ GTCR/GoldenGate/BDT/etc), doing buyouts.
How difficult will it be to do on-cycle or off cycle MF PE recruiting in my situation? Here are some of my questions:
- Are analysts in the groups that I listed above considered to be stronger/weaker candidates than the IB groups I listed above?
- Will location be a huge barrier while recruiting?
I'm assuming I'll have to be discreet. There's not a lot of information out there regarding this so would appreciate a perspective from someone who is a current/former MM/UMM PE analyst. Thank you!
